Saturday 16th May
Fished on beat 21 this afternoon for an hour, the river was running very clear considering all the rain. Caught 2 wild brownies on a f fly. The weather has a lot of improving to do yet - still that cool wind, called it a day when it started thundering and lightning.

Sunday 10th May
Unfortunately this is the last day of my little break, went on beat 6/7 for a couple of hours this afternoon first tried LDO with no success switched to a olive F Fly (not a Baslowfisher favourite) but had 3 brownies and 7 grayling, the temp was 14.5 but there was still that cold breeze from time to time which kept the fish down.

Friday 8th May
Well today has to be the worst conditions on the river both torrential rain and very windy, fished for about an hour around 15 00hrs nothing rising tried a nymph only got one pull- the highlight of the afternoon was seeing a Great creasted grebe with 9 chicks - the young ones are so distinctively striped.

Whilst still on holiday this week managed to get down to the river this afternoon just for 2 hours
the weather was sunny the air temperature was 15.5 but it was quite windy and that kept the fish down, had 5 wild brownies 1 on a Mayfly nymph and the rest on a LDO. Found a nest with a clutch of 6 Moorhen eggs.
